My Poetry - Mirror of the Ocean Blue

In the crystal blue water I can see you so clearly

I reach out my hand and I feel your skin

I feel your scales

I feel your breasts

You arch your back as I run my hands down your spine

You let out a giggle as I caress your face

You are a beautiful mermaid but you can't even see it

Your cheeks are flushed with embarrassment

Do you not know how gorgeous you are?

I stared into this mirror of the ocean blue and heard it saying the words back to me

"You are beauty, you are grace, you are everything in spades!"

If you keep saying it, I might start to believe it

I don't feel beautiful and I don't feel graceful

I never felt pretty like everyone else

"Oh but you are! You are a magickal, mystical being of light

And you are beautiful!"

The reflection sang the words to me

Even if I didn't want to believe them

But a spark of a flame ignited in me

And I felt hope surge like the ocean's tide 

My skin became scales

My heart became full

My mind became lighter

And my soul became true

I looked into the mirror in this ocean blue

And I saw myself as I'd never seen before

I AM beautiful. I AM grace. I am everything in SPADES.

And now the rest of the world will see it too!

Mirror of the ocean blue

Always make my heart beat true

Rid my mind of all the doubt

And fill my soul day in and day out
