For I was cast deep into the heart of the sea
The waves were crashing all around me
The sneers on their faces as they called this "love"
They do not act like the one above
The deeper I go, the more the world falls away
Their words; Their anger; They know nothing but hate
But I did not falter as I sunk to the deep
I embraced who I am; a mystical feat
The water around me started to shimmer and shine
Suddenly my life had been redefined
The feet I once had, now a tail had become
The abyss I was in, now enduringly gone
I know I've lived a life full of regrets
But the ocean cleanses and I'm not done yet
By embracing my heart I have now become
My authentic self in a world undone

In witchcraft, water is healing. This poem is about me stepping away from christianity and embracing my spirituality and new beliefs. I am become Mermaid, a beautiful being not bound to religiosity!
