My Poetry - The Prison Inside Me

My life is a cage
A part of me is empty
Disenchanted by the realization
That I’ll never be free

I long, I long
For some semblance of happiness
Wondering. Waiting.
With unsuccess

Free me from this prison
My life has become
Begging. Pleading.
For a positive outcome

Traipsing along
This long and thwarted path
Feeling this incubus
Surround and attack

Deep in this foxhole
In this prison of mine
Disengaged shall I wait
Till I turnverein

MEANING:
I just finished this poem. I've been thinking of writing it all day, but never got around to it until now.
